Join us for this fun, hands-on intensive where we’ll take you behind the curtain, and teach you from the ground up about becoming a stand-up comedian, and the Art of Stand-Up Comedy.

Writing exercises to help you on your comedy journey
Developing your own style of comedy
Connecting with an audience
Becoming a better public speaker by using humor
Dos and Don’ts about performing live stand-up comedy
Writing, performing and perfecting your act
Delivery, timing and dealing with nerves

Our program combines class instruction with hands-on exercises and student participation, culminating with a final performance by all students in front of a live audience at Bay Street Theater! We’ll also bring in a Guest Comedian to visit our class to give students additional insight into the world of stand-up comedy. About Comedian Paul Anthony:
Paul Anthony is a veteran comedian from Long Island. He is best known for his work as the founder and official host of the Long Island Comedy Festival, started in 2006. Paul Anthony performs regularly at top venues and has shared the stage with comedians such as Louie Anderson, Gary Gulman, Judy Gold, Vic Dibitetto, Chris Distefano and Robert Klein. Other shows he’s developed include: Mom’s Night Out: The Mother of All Comedy Shows, The 50+ Comedy Tour, The Berkshire Comedy Festival and the new HA HA HAamptons Comedy Tour.
